Novohit Server Reboot Instructions - ENGLISH

IMPORTANT
THIS TASK MUST BE DONE BY PERSONNEL WITH BASIC TRAINING IN LINUX.

Rebooting your server every 25 days is a good practice and maintenance task.

Authorized personnel with basic training and knowledge of Linux OS and Server Hardware must follow the following procedure. The client or user executing this procedure is the sole responsible of planning, informing users and executing the procedure. novohit does not use this procedure to reboot the server. Logs will be kept for indeterminate time to record every step of the following procedure.

To reboot the server:

With a terminal (command line) or PuttY (http://www.putty.org), access your novohit's secure shell with the credentials delivered to the System Administrator or IT Manager.
E.g.:
bash$ ssh usr-credential-for-reboot@mynovohitserver.net
Password: TYPE_THE_PASSWORD_PROVIDED

Rebooting can also be done using the CentOS login screen.

To shutdown the server:

With a terminal (command line) or PuttY (http://www.putty.org), access your novohit's secure shell with the credentials delivered to the System Administrator or IT Manager.
E.g.:

bash$ ssh usr-credential-for-shutdown@mynovohitserver.net
Password: TYPE_THE_PASSWORD_PROVIDED

This operation can also be done using the CentOS login screen.

Important: It is highly recommended to schedule this procedure, alerting all your users and requesting them to finish their current tasks and logging out of novohit to prevent unfinished or broken transactions. We also encourage to notify Novohit Support Staff.

Important: Remember that our Cloud Backup System is scheduled between 3:00 AM and 9:00 AM local time.

Important: Avoid rebooting during the night audit as it will interrupt important transactions potentially causing damage to the data.

Important: If you are using Interfaces such as Tartel Call Accounting or Third-party Reservation Processing Interfaces System, remember to reactivate the interface as indicated on the following guide.

Nota: All rebooting opreations are kept in an internal control log. Abuses will be prosecuted. Hotel Management is entirely responsible for the use or misuses of this command.
