Daily Exchange Rate Types

Novohit is multi-currency. In this application the daily exchange rates that are applied in the different areas of the hotel are entered. The currencies are configured according to the customer's operations.

Go to Front Office → Reception Cashier → Daily Exchange Rate Types

For transactions in foreign currency, Novohit will take the exchange rate registered at the time of the transaction. For example, if at 9:05 a transaction is made in USD, Novohit will take the exchange rate in effect at that time. If a new exchange value is registered at 11:08 and at 12:37 a transaction is made, Novohit will take the current exchange rate, which is the one at 11:08.

The exchange rate applied to foreign currency fees to convert them to local currency and the exchange rate applied to the transaction of the administration module when the portfolio is in foreign currency.

Search and add exchange rate per day

Upon entering the application, the Daily Exchange Rate  window will be displayed, where you must specify:

Application: Select the application that will be affected by the exchange rate you modify.
Currency: Indicate the currency for which the exchange rate will be defined.

Click the Search button.

After performing the search, two other windows will appear:

Add or Edit Exchange Rates: In this window you can add the amount of the exchange rates for the current day or future dates; to do this, you must enter the corresponding information in the following fields:

Field	Description
Date	Indicate the date for which you wish to enter the exchange rate.
Exchange Rate	Enter the amount of the exchange rate.

After entering the values, you must click the Add button to save the new exchange rate.

If you want to discard the changes and not save the information entered, click the Leave button.

Edit or delete exchange rates

To edit or delete the exchange rate amount for the current day or future dates, you must follow these steps:

In the Currency Exchange/Foreign Currency Portfolio/Currency Rates window (depending on the application selected in the   Daily Exchange Rate  section), click the Edit (pencil) icon for the date you want to edit or delete.

Enter the information in the relevant fields in the Add or Edit Exchange Rates section

Enter the information in the appropriate fields.

Field	Description
Date	Modify the day of the exchange rate.
Exchange Rate	Change the exchange rate amount.

Click the Save button to ensure that the modification is saved or click the Delete button to remove the type of change.

In the Exchange Rates/Foreign Currency in Portfolio/Currency Exchange Window: All the current exchange rates for each day will be displayed depending on the selected application.

The past dates can only be consulted; however, the current date and a future date can be selected for modification. It is suggested not to modify the Exchange Rate during the day, to avoid discrepancy in the amounts of the reports and the accounting entry.

During the night audit process the current day exchange rates will be automatically extended for the following day, in case there is no previously defined exchange rate for that day.
