Inventory Catalog

In this application the general information that identifies the products is registered, modified, deactivated, and searched.
Go to: Administration (Back Office) → Inventory Control → Inventory Catalog.
The initial screen shows the following sections:
Search Inventory Products: The product search is performed.
Catalog Inventory Products: shows the products already registered. They can be sorted in ascending or descending order by clicking on the columns: Code, Type, Group, Subgroup, Name, Barcode, Origin, Expiry (controls expiry), Lot, MU Pkg (Packaging), Contents, Pkg Contents.
To perform any action, you must first select the warehouse with which you will be working.


Search Product


To search for products, perform the following steps:
In the Search Inventory Products section, enter the information corresponding to the product you wish to search for in the following fields:
Field
Description
Inventory Type
Select to which type of inventory the product you wish to search for belongs.
Group
Select in which group is the product you want to search.
Sub Group
Define to which subgroup the product you want to search for belongs.
Name
Name of the product you wish to search for.
For example: garbage bag 10*25, garbage bag 25*25, garbage bag 30*25.
Name
Denomination that can group a group of products. For example, the generic for the example mentioned in the "Name" field would be garbage bag.
Enabled
By checking this check box you are requested to show the products/items that have had movements but are deactivated, i.e., they are not active.
Applies to Maintenance Mod.
Checking this check box prompts you to display the products that apply to the maintenance module and/or belong to the company's fixed assets.
Press the Search button.
If the search was successful, the information will be displayed in the Catalog Inventory Products section and if not, the message,
"No records" will appear.
You can choose one or several filters, depending on the filters used will be the specificity of the search.

Register of New Products


To register a new product, perform the following actions:
Go to Administration (Back Office) → Inventory Control → Inventory Catalog.
In the Catalog Inventory Products section, click on the Insert icon.
Enter the data corresponding to the product in the following fields:

Description
Inventory Type
Select to which type of inventory the product/item belongs.
Product Code
It is the number automatically assigned by the system.
Bar code
Enter the bar code number if applicable.
Name *
Name of the product/item you wish to search for. For example: garbage bag 25*25, garbage bag 30*25.
Generic Name
Denomination that can group a group of products/items. For example: the generic for the example mentioned in the "Name" field would be garbage bag. Or non-commercial denomination of a product in case it has one.
Enable
By checking this check box you are requested to show the products/items that have had movements but are deactivated, i.e., they are not active.
Applies to Maintenance Mod.
Checking this check box specifies that the product/item that applies to the maintenance module.
Group *
Select which group the product/item of the inventory type is in.
For example:
Inventory Type: Food
Group: Perishables.
Sub Group *
Define to which subgroup the product/item belongs. For example:
Inventory Type: Food
Group: Perishables
SubGroup: Fruits.
Source
Country where the product/item was made.
Controls Expiration
Determines if it has an expiration date.
Controls Lots
Defines if it handles batches.
Packaging Format *
Select the way the product is packaged.
Package Contents *
Quantity of the product inside the package.
Content Format
Select the shape of the product content.
Cost Average
Enter the value of the unit cost of the product (Novohit uses average costs as a valuation method).
Base Tax
Select the value added tax rate applicable to the product.
Indicate Amounts for Minimum
Enter the minimum quantity of the product that must be in stock.
Indicate Amounts for Maximum
Enter the maximum quantity of the product to be in stock.
Re-Order Point
Product stock limit for a new order.
Request
Quantity of product request.
Indicate if it applicable * % Margin
Enter the percentage over the cost price to calculate the selling price.
Indicate if applicable * Selling Price 
When it applies that the product is for sale, enter the selling price.
Indicate if applicable * % Discount
Percentage discount amount, if applicable.
Commission (Point of Sale) %
Enter the commission percentage on product sales.
Commission (Point of Sale) Amount
Enter the amount of commission on the sale of the product.
Press the Add button.

Modify Products


To make modifications to any field of products already registered, perform the following steps:
Go to Administration (Back Office) → Inventory Control → Inventory Catalog.
Search for the product to be modified.
In the Catalog Inventory Products section, click on the Edit icon.
Modify the corresponding field.
Click on the Save button.


Deactivate Products


When products already have transactions registered, to protect the integrity of the data, they can only be deactivated by performing the
following steps:
Go to Administration (Back Office) → Inventory Control → Inventory Catalog.
Search for the product that you want to deactivate.
In the Catalog Product Inventory window, click on the Edit icon.
Modify the Enable field by clicking on the check box to deactivate the product. So, it will appear only in the reports that have registered
transactions. 
Click on the Save button.

Delete Products


A product that has not had any registered transactions is allowed to be deleted or removed by performing the following steps:
Go to Administration (Back Office)→ Inventory Control → Products Inventory Catalog.
Search for the product to be deleted.
In the Catalog Inventory Products section, click on the Edit icon.
Verify that it is the product you require to delete.
Press the Delete button.
