Novohit Backup - Data Backups

Novohit performs backups of operational data and electronic invoices according to the frequency defined in paragraph 1.c of the Novohit SBAM Support, Backups, Updates and Monitoring Service Terms. These backups are stored on our secure Cloud servers for 7 days. Additionally, incremental backups of the environment files are performed once per day and these files are stored indefinitely. Electronic invoices are maintained and backed up for 1 additional year beyond what is required by law.

Backups are used to restore data in case of server or datacenter failure.

Operational data backups are part of the SLA service Novohit SBAM Support, Backups, Updates and Monitoring Service Agreement.

In the case of local servers, in addition to Novohit Cloud backups, it is required to have RAID redundancy on the customer’s own server. In case of failure of local disks, the incremental backups from our Cloud will be used. Backups can be implemented on a new local server or on a Novohit installation in the Cloud. For reasons of data integrity, security and corporate policies indicated in our Universal Commercial Terms, it is not possible to perform local backups or backups stored on local hard drives or external storage devices (peripherals), since they may affect system performance and/or stability. Additionally, hard drives have a capacity limit, whereas in the Cloud this is not the case. Furthermore, having an external hard drive exposes you to unwanted data extraction (e.g., someone taking the hard drive containing all your data).

NOTE 1: In case of local server failure and if reinstallation of the Operating System and Novohit is required, the reinstallation service has a preferential cost for clients with a Support and Maintenance Contract. Services will be quoted at the time of reinstallation.

NOTE 2: Our Cloud Recovery service is available: in case of local server failure, we activate our Cloud servers so that you can continue working uninterruptedly using the daily data backups performed as part of the Support and Updates agreement.

NOTE 3: Operational data includes data generated by the daily operation of the Novohit modules. It does not include electronic invoices.

NOTE 4: hotelRSV already has a Cloud Backup service for operational data. It is not necessary to contract any additional service.
