Sync with HotelRSV


The synchronization between HotelRSV's Booking Engine and Novohit's PMS is through two ways:
  1. First, rates and restrictions (seasons) are synchronized from Novohit to HotelRSV.
  2. Secondly, reservations from HotelRSV are synchronized in real time to Novohit once they have been approved in HotelRSV. The availability is affected depending on how the reservation confirmation policy is configured in Novohit.
Thanks to this two-way synchronization, the hotelier can take centralized control from Novohit.

Parameter Base Setup and Synchronization Values

Idea
In HotelRSV the agencies are equivalent to the currency in which your reservation will be paid. Normally 2 Agencies are created: the national currency and USD or EUR, depending if the hotel accepts electronic payments in those currencies.

Alert
For the correct functioning of HotelRSV, there must always be an agency with the checkbox marked with "Walkin Default".
Notes
It is the Hotelier's responsibility to maintain and verify that these synchronization settings are maintained and correct. When changes are made to any platform (e.g. change of inventory, change of currencies, change of seasons), the hotelier must verify in both platforms that the synchronization parameters are valid based on this guide.

Setup for Seasonal Synchronization (Rates and Restrictions)


Warning
Seasons created before the activation of the Synchronization between Novohit and HOTELRSV will not be synchronized even if they are edited. New seasons must be created.
The hotelier can synchronize Seasons from Novohit to HotelRSV on an ongoing basis by following these instructions:
  1. Verify that the synchronization parameters are still valid (see previous paragraph).
  2. Create a new Season in Novohit under HotelRSV agency and automatically, after a few seconds, it will be created in HotelRSV. Seasons created before the activation of the Synchronization between Novohit and HOTELRSV will not be synchronized even if they are edited. New seasons must be created.
  3. When you modify the season in Novohit, the changes in Rates and Restrictions will be automatically sent, after a few seconds, to HotelRSV.

Dynamic Availability Check


If the dynamic check parameter is on, HotelRSV will try to check availability in real time in Novohit twice:
  1. When the guest or user performs an availability search (date search) by pressing the Search button on the Web page engine:

If the server where Novohit PMS is hosted responds quickly (milliseconds), then HotelRSV will consider the actual availability of the hotel, if it does not respond it will take the allotment assigned as well as the availability in HotelRSV.
Notes
By default, dynamic availability is active. If you have any doubts about the status, please submit a ticket at help.novohit.com referring to this manual.

Reservation Synchronization


Reservations registered in HotelRSV will be sent to Novohit automatically when the transaction is completed.

Allotment


Unlike, Sync with SiteMinder, HotelRSV does consider Agency (Channel) allotments. HOTELRSV will continue to be verified to determine whether a reservation is accepted or rejected. See "Sync Between Novohit and SiteMinder Channel Manager."

Reservation Codes


Booking codes are handled randomly per-server, this ensures that all booking codes are unique.
For this reason, in HotelRSV a code is generated and, when it arrives at Novohit, another code is generated, but both codes are related and appear in the same Novohit booking grid.
Additionally, both codes can be searched in the search fields, so the operational staff will be able to search by the HotelRSV code that the guest has. The guest only needs to know the code generated at the time of booking online.

Manually Sent from HotelRSV to Novohit


The manual sending of reservations is an emergency mechanism in the rare case that, if your local server is not online at the time a reservation is made due to your connectivity or server availability, your operational staff can send them manually.
Notes
You can also use this mechanism to send reservations that you canceled in HotelRSV manually and that you want to synchronize with Novohit.
To do this, go to app.hotelrsv.com menu Reservations → Room Reservation. Check the checkbox of the reservation(s) you wish to send and then click on the Send Reservations button.

It is not necessary to synchronize reservations from Novohit to HotelRSV.
Status Messages
A brief status message is displayed next to the remote reservation code (the one generated in Novohit).
Reservation Sent means that the booking has been sent to Novohit but is being processed.
Accepted means that the reservation was sent, processed and accepted.
There are no more rooms available for the selected period: # means that the reservation was sent but there are no more rooms of that type in Novohit and therefore the reservation cannot be registered. Check your Allotment - SmartAvail configuration and your over booking configuration in Novohit. You can also request an email alert to be sent to you in these cases. Any questions or to request to activate the email alert, contact our staff at help.hotelrsv.com.
If there is no message or any error message, it means that there is no connection with Novohit or there is a problem (indicated in the message) and you should contact our help desk at help.hotelrsv.com.
